Lawyer’s Product. Attorneys do not have traditional products that they sell. An attorney’s product is his or her time and advice to help the client gain the best result possible, appropriate to their fact situation. This is true whether the matter is estate planning, estate administration, a business matter, a real estate transaction, litigation or an adoption.
Each matter is unique and personal. The time it takes to accomplish each legal matter varies significantly based on the facts and difficulty of each unique situation. It also varies significantly with the focus, organization and assistance of the client. So as to not penalize those with simpler matters and those able to efficiently assist the attorney, this office handles most matters on an hourly fee basis plus out-of-pocket expenses.
Hourly Rate. Hourly rates in this office range, from $160 to $175 per hour depending on the area of
practice and the situation.
Time is kept and recorded for all actions related to a case. Paralegal time is billed at $65 to $75 per hour, depending on the type of work performed. Work that we consider general secretarial work is not billed to the client.
